Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran
Church for Mrs. John Karau, 60, who died at her home Friday, Jan. 5, 1962, after
being in ill health since 1958. Mrs. Karau had been a teacher in the grades at
the Loyal Public School at one time.
Rev. W.R. Krueger officiated and
burial was made in the West Spencer Cemetery.
The former Linda Haslow was
born Jan. 23, 1901 in the town of Sherman and was married to John Karau on June
20, 1925 in Spencer. She had lived there her entire life except from 1941 to
1943, when she resided in Minneapolis.
She taught school for 19 years in
Loyal, St. Croix Falls and Spencer.
Surviving are her husband, John; a
daughter, Mrs. Donald (Joan) Schlender, Brooklyn Center, Minn.; her mother, Mrs.
Anna Haslow, Spencer; five grandchildren and a brother, Norman, Spencer. She is
preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Attending the services
from Loyal were: Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Haslow, Mrs. Ida Kusa and Mrs. W.I. Mack.
