Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 13 at the
Jasperson Funeral Home at Spencer for Mrs. Augusta E. Boyer, 87, who was found
dead at the home of her sister, Mrs. Lige Niman in Spencer. The Rev. Ralph
Kolemay officiated and burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.
The former
Augusta Marks was born Nov. 27, 1874 in Oshkosh. She was married in 1901 to
Herbert Whitney in Minnesota. He died in 1911. Her second marriage was to Noah
Boyer in Procter, Minn. in 1918. He died in 1921. She had lived in Spencer since
1935. As a young girl she lived with her family in Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.).
Survivros include a sister, Mrs. Lige Niman, Spencer; four nieces, Mrs. Glen
Shupe, Spencer, Mrs. Chet Gabel, Perrysburg, N.Y.; Mrs. Jan Marx, Dunkirk, N.Y.;
and Mrs. Irma Cramer, Bellington, Wash.; three nephews, Vernon Marx and
Frederick Marx, Dunkirk, N.Y., and Robert Marx, Fredonia, N.Y. She was also a
great-great-aunt to Bill Shupe of Spencer, Bruce Shupe of Marshfield and Mrs.
Gilbert Waldhart of Appleton.
