Richard J. Soback, 70, of Unity, passed away Saturday,
October 6, 2012 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A funeral service
will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Unity. A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 9, at the Maurina Schilling
Funeral Home in Abbotsford from 4 to 8 PM and at the church in Unity on
Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of services.
Richard was born
November 8, 1941 in Little Town, New York to Joseph and Delma (Hubbard) Sobeck.
He received his education in Wonewoc, Wisconsin. Richard entered the Army in
1958. Upon returning from military service, he worked for Grady Foundry in
Reedsburg. Richard and Barbara Stumpner were joined in marriage on November 2,
1963 in Whitewater. Richard and Barbara then bought a farm by Atwood and farmed
for several years. They later sold the farm and moved into Unity and Richard
began his career as a truck driver, first for various companies and then became
an owner/operator until his retirement in 2007.
Richard was a member of
Trinity Lutheran Church and lifetime member of the LaValle Sportsman Club. He
enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing with his grandchildren, and watching
the Packers and Nascar. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and
friends.
Richard is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children: Connie
(Daniel) Harding of Rice Lake, Sara (David) Uhlig of Dorchester, and Chad
(Jackie) Soback of Spencer; his grandchildren: Megan, Eric, and Evan Harding,
Emily, Tanner, and Logan Uhlig, and Samantha, Danielle, and Jakob Soback. He is
further survived by his brothers and sisters: Robert (Darlene) Soback, Roy
(Marcella) Sobeck, Josephine (Dan) Parkhurst, Ray (Theresa) Sobeck, Sandra
(Richard) Hanko, Randy (Cheryl) Sobeck, Rocky (Charity) Soback, and Ginger (Leo)
Hanko; half sister, Katherine, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Dorothy, and seven half
siblings.
The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is assisting
the family with arrangements.
