Shaw, Raymond J. (26 March 1908 - 31 August 1967)

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Raymond J. Shaw, 59, of Neillsville who died Thursday in a Marshfield hospital, where he had been a patient for seven weeks. The Rev. W. C. Koehler of the United Church of Christ officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Shaw was born March 26, 19008, in Neillsville, the son of the late Jerome and Nancy (McVey) Shaw. He attended Neillsville High School. He was engaged in farming for a few years in the Nasonville area and later operated the pool hall in Neillsville. For many years he was an employee of the city and was custodian of the Neillsville City Cemetery, retiring from that position due to poor health. His marriage to the former Viola Barr took place in Greenwood.

He is survived by three children, Mrs. Darcey (Shirley) Gross of Milwaukee, Donald Shaw of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Howard (Beverly) Krause of Yuba City, Cal. Other survivors are to sisters, Mrs. Roy (Mae) Beckman of black River Falls and Mrs. Perry (Genevieve) Hahn of Rt. 2 Lindsey; and by three brothers, George of Neillsville, Clifford (Ted) of Milwaukee and Harold, address unknown. Eleven grandchildren also survive.

Pallbearers were: Darrel Raine, Earl Zille, Oscar Walk, Theodore Ampe, John C. Brandt and Clarence Bardell. “Beyond the Sunset” was sung by Ervin Steiger, accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.

People from out of town here for the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Darcy Gross and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Shaw and family of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Beckman of Black River Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Perry Hahn of Lindsey; and Mrs. James Jacoby of Marshfield.
