Wenzel, Sandra Jean (Marriage - 2 September 1967)
Sandra Jean Wenzel of Withee and Dale C. Bower of rural Owen exchanged nuptial
vows Saturday in a 2 p.m. wedding ceremony in the United Church in Owen. The
Rev. Robert Goessling performed the ceremony in which the bride was given in
marriage by Roy Schroeder of Appleton. Parents of the couple are Mrs. Phyllis
Wenzel of Withee and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bower of Rt. 1 Owen.
For her wedding the bride chose Chantilly lace floor-length gown, fashioned with
a cage-effect skirt that featured a sheer front panel. The empire waist was
accented with a pearl studded neckline and a self-train. A shoulder-length veil
was attached to a crown headpiece. She carried a heart-shaped bouquet of white
Figi chrysanthemums, intermingled with red sweetheart roses.
Mrs. Paul Niznik of Des Plaines, Ill., was matron-of-honor. Bridesmaids were
Miss Kathleen Stack of Withee and Miss Barbara Hoeper of Dundee, Ore. They were
seen in floor-length lemoge blue lace gowns with sheer chiffon over-lay skirts.
Their empire waists were accented with a bow. Each carried a colonial bouquet of
all-white pompons and chrysanthemums accented with green ivy.
Terry Wenzel of Withee was bestman. Groomsmen were Ronald Engel of Valparaiso,
Ind., Duane Bower of Owen and Bill Conzemius of Owen. Ushers were Paul Niznik
and August Schreiber.
The bride is a graduate of Owen High School and has been attending Wisconsin
State University - Stevens Point. Mr. Bower, a 1965 graduate of Owen High
School, recently completed National Guard basic training and this fall will
attend Wisconsin State University - Stevens Point, where they will reside at 800
Union Street.
