Lewis, Nettie (29 DEC 1877 - 23 FEB 1963)

Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Lewis, 85, Abbotsford, who died Saturday, Feb. 23, 1963, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where she was a patient since Feb. 12, were held Tuesday afternoon. The body lay in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home until 11 o'clock when it was taken to the Assembly of God Church where the Rev. Lillian Jensen conducted services at 1 o'clock.

The Misses Rachel, Bethel and Patricia Mantik, accompanied by Mrs. Rueben Mantik, sang "Rock of Ages" and "Beyond the Sunset."

Six grandsons served as pallbearers for the interment in the Hannibal Cemetery in Taylor County. They were Andy Lewis, Harold Bingham, Vernon Sohr, Aldy Holm, Raymond and Clovis White.

Mrs. Lewis, the former Nettie Sevey, was born Dec. 29, 1877, in Iowa. Her marriage to Andrew Lewis took place at Edgewood, Iowa, March 2, 1902. The couple farmed in teh Hannibal area until the death of Mr. Lewis in 1943. Mrs. Lewis came to Abbotsford in 1947.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Anna White and Mrs. Paul (Mildred) Bingham, Minneapolis; and one son, John Lewis, Granton. There are eight grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Cross, Beaver Dam, and Mrs. Agnes Elliot, Edgewood, Iowa, also survive.

In addition to her husband, one sister and four brothers preceded her in death.
