Felzkowski, John (14 DEC 1876 - 20 FEB 1963)
John Felzkowski, 86, died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, Wednesday, Feb.
20, 1963, where he was a patient for two days. He was a resident of Leahy's
Nursing Home at Abbotsford since last June. Prior to that he made his home with
his daughter, Mrs. Martha Pecher. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at
St. Anthony's Catholic Church at Athens with the Rev. C.J. Smetana officiating
at a 10 o'clock mass of requiem. Interment was made in the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers were six grandsons: Donald and Clemence Pecher, Leroy Kropp, Ervin
Murkowski, Edmund Writz and Eugene Felzkowski.
John Felzkowski was born Dec. 14, 1876, in the town of Cassel, the son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Felzkowski. On Sept. 3, 1900, he and the former Mary
Lewandowski, also of the town of Cassel, were married.
They farmed near Athens and in 1946 retired and made their home with a son. In
1953, they came to Abbotsford and lived with their daughter, Mrs. Martha Pecher.
Mrs. Felzkowski died in 1956.
Surviving them are two sons: Edward and Alois, both of the town of Johnson, and
seven daughters, Mrs. Vincent (Catherine) Writz, Marathon; Mrs. Raymond (Lucy)
Fellbaum, town of Hamburg; Mrs. Fred (Clara (Kropp, town of Bern; Mrs. Harry
(Barbara) Murkowski, town of Rietbrock; Mrs. Henry (Margaret) Rinehart, Owen;
and Mrs. Martha Pecher and Mrs. George (Mary) Pecher, both of the town of
Holton.
He is also survived by five brothers: Charles of Madison; Stanley of
Philadelphia; Albert, Milwaukee; Anthony and Joseph of the town of Cassel, adn
two sisters, Mrs. Steve Matushak, Wausau; and Mrs. Anton Brodjewski of the town
of Rietbrock.
