Rasmussen, Charles (9 FEB 1883 - 17 MAR 1963)
Funeral services for Charles Rasmussen, 80, of Colby, who died at 10 a.m.
Sunday, March 17, 1963 at St. joseph's Hospital, Marshfield of complications
following surgery, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Zion Lutheran Church at
Colby.
The Rev. Leroy Urman officiated at the services and burial was made in the Colby
Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Rasmussen was born at Clintonville Feb. 9, 1883. March 6, 1912, he was
married to the former Marie Ann Rohl at Coleman. They came to the Colby area in
1912 and established the Rose Lawn Cheese Factory south of Cherokee in 1914. In
May 1930 they moved to Colby, and he served the city as a policeman for about 10
years. He also worked several years at the Cheese Box Co. at Riplinger.
Mr. Rasmussen was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Colby.
Mrs. Rasmussen died in March 1960,a nd a daughter, Mrs. Everett (Mabel) Eder
also preceded him in death.
He is survived by one son, Wilgert of Milwaukee.
There are four brothers, Fred of Montana, Hans of Bear Creek, Wis., Richard of
Appleton and James of Clintonville, and a sister, Mrs. Emil (Christina) Schoepke
of Clintonville.
A sister and a brother also preceded him in death.
