Harrop, Trena (9 AUG 1885 - 25 MAR 1963)
Mrs. Sherman Harrop, 77, Route 1, Abbotsford, died at St. Joseph's Hospital,
Marshfield, Monday, March 25, 1963, at 1:30 p.m. She was taken there in the
Abbotsford ambulance Saturday night.
The body will lie in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home until noon Thursday,
when it will be taken to the Presbyterian Church, Abbotsford. Funeral services
will be conducted at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Carl Serr of Colby officiating.
Burial will be made in the Abbotsford Cemetery.
Mrs. Harrop, the former Trena Arneson, was born Aug. 9, 1885, at Barneveld, Wis.
And was educated in schools in Iowa County. After her marriage to Sherman Harrop
on Apri. 16, 1913, the couple farmed in southern Wisconsin and lived in the sate
of Washington for a time. Forty-five years ago they came to Abbotsford and
operated a farm in the town of Holton. Mr. Harrop died in August 1959.
Mrs. Harrop was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and of the Social
Corners Homemakers Club.
Surviving her are two sons and two daughters, Claire of Madison, Jack of
Abbotsford, Mrs. Harold (Doris) Weitzman of Stetsonville, and Mrs. Elmer
(Evelyn) Haas of Colby. There are five grandchildren.
She also leaves a sister and a brother, Miss Evelyn Arneson and Will Arneson,
both of Barneveld.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers
and two sisters.
