Wankusky, William (15 MAR 1882 - 28 MAR 1963)
William Wankusky, 81, a resident of the Leahy Nursing Home, Abbotsford, died at
St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, Thursday morning, Mar. 28, 1963, at 8 a.m. He
was admitted the night before.
The body lay in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home at Abbotsford until noon
Saturday when it was taken to St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Green Grove. The
Rev. Jerome Wohlfeil officiated at the 2 o'clock services, during which the
congregation sang three hymns, with Mrs. Vernon Boss as organist.
Interment was made in the Green Grove Cemetery. The pallbearers were Charles
Carnahan, Daniel Fredricks, Fred and Hubert Glenzer, Henry Schuh, and Ralph
Woik.
William Wankusky was born Mar. 15, 1882 at North Tonawanda, N.Y. For a time he
lived at Milwaukee where his marriage took place April 28, 1910.
The couple came to the Abbotsford area in 1917 and later moved to Milwaukee,
returning here about 10 years ago.
His only survivor is his wife, Emma, a resident of the Leahy Nursing Home.
