Schuh, John (29 JUL 1876 - 29 MAR 1963)

Funeral services for John Schuh, 86, route 2, Colby, who died Friday, March 29, 1963, at 5 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, were held Tuesday morning.

The body lay in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home, where the Catholic Order of Foresters held a rosary service Monday evening at 8:30, and a general rosary services was held at 9 o'clock.

The mass of requiem was sung at St. Mary's Catholic Church by the Rev. John B. Pinion at 10:30 Tuesday morning, followed by interment in the parish cemetery.

The pallbearers were all grandsons: Ambrose, Robert, James, Roger and Richard Schuh, and Ray Knapp..

Mr. Schuh was born July 29, 1876, in Manitowoc County, the son of John and Margaret Schuh, and came to the Colby area as a young boy. He and Miss Roselia Beyerl were married in 1903 and lived his entire life on a farm west of Colby. They retired in 1941 when his son Anthony took over the farm, and they made their home with him. Mrs. Schuh died in 1950.

He is survived by five sons: Henry, Curtiss; Francis, Sheboygan Falls; Arthur and Anthony, Colby; and Walter, Milwaukee; and three daughters, Mrs. Leo (Dorothy) Biel, Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Fred (Lavine) Knapp, Wausau; and Mrs. Clarence (Della) Strade, Laverne, Calif.

There are 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Three brothers and four sisters also survive; Joseph Schuh, Shawano; Albert Schuh, Colby; and Edward Schuh, Rockford, Ill.; Miss Tina Schuh and Mrs. Arthur (Agnes) Burmeister, Dixon, Ill.; Mrs. August (Clara) Lindner, Rapid City, S.D.; and Mrs. Louis (Caroline) CeaCea, Woodland Hills, Calif.
