Lowe, Clara E. (23 DEC 1875 - 11 APR 1963)
Rites were held Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Roy Lowe, 87, formerly of
Abbotsford, who died Thursday at 3:20 a.m. of complication at her home at
Wausau.
The body was taken from the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford to the
Presbyterian Church at 11:30 and funeral services were held at 1 o'clock, with
the Rev. Douglas P. Oyan, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Marshfield,
officiating.
Lenore and Ann Lenz sang two sons, "The Old Rugged Cross: and "What a Friend We
have in Jesus," with Jacqueline Scheel at the organ.
The pallbearers at the interment, which was made in Trinity Rest Cemetery at
Hixton, Wis., were Roy Lee Lowe, Conrad Christensen, Carl Christensen, La Verne
Knoll, Otto Schecklman and Roger Eckes.
The former Clara Elizabeth Jones was born Dec. 23, 1875, in Hixton, and attended
Jackson County schools. Her marriage to Roy Lowe took place Nov. 28, 1900, at
Sechlerville. They farmed near Blair for a time and came to the Abbotsford area
in 1925.
In 1935 they moved to a farm near Marshfield and returned here in 1952. About
six months ago, Mr. and Mrs. Lowe moved to Wausau.
Mrs. Lowe was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Social Corners
Homemakers Club. At one time she was a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Ruth) Cendt of
Wausau, and Mrs. Victor (Kathryn) Christensen of Marshfield, and Wesley of Eau
Claire.
There are nine grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. And two
brothers, Earl Jones of Hixton, and Guy Jones of Waukegan, Ill.
A daughter an a sister preceded her in death.
