Anderson, Gerhard (19 JUN 1903 - 20 APR 1963)
Gerhard Anderson, Route 1, Abbotsford, died at the age of 59, at St. Joseph's
Hospital, Marshfield, at 11:50 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 1963.
Mr. Anderson was on a tractor at his farm doing spring seeding, late Thursday
afternoon, when he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and was taken to the hospital.
The body lay in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home at Abbotsford until noon
Tuesday when it was taken to the First Presbyterian Church where the Rev.
Douglas P. Oyan of the First Presbyterian Church of Marshfield officiated at the
services. During the 2 o'clock rites, Mrs. Wilbur Kuehnast and Mrs. Myron
Grasser sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "What a Friend we have in Jesus." Miss
Bonnie Melvin was accompanist and organist.
The pallbearers were Howard Cendt, Walter Gasch, L.F. Loucks, Archie Melvin,
Francis Melvin and Howard Merwin.
Mr. Anderson was born in the town of Hull, near Abbotsford, the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Charles G. Anderson, June 19, 1903. He was married to Wilma Lenz at Colby
June 11, 1936 and they lived on a farm east of Abbotsford.
He served as trustee and elder of the Presbyterian Church for many years.
He is survived by his wife: a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Donna) Eckerle, Schofield;
one son, Gary Carl, a student at Wis. State College, River Falls; two
grandchildren; a brother, Carl W. Anderson, Sacramento, Calif.; and two sisters,
Nina and Adelia, Carmichael, Calif.
His parents preceded him in death.
