Miss Paulette Marie Witte and David Neil Schmitt were united in marriage
Saturday, April 20, 1963, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Route 2, Colby. The
Rev. Jerome V. Wohlfeil heard their exchange of vows before the altar adorned
with bouquet of pink and white gladioli.
During the 2 o'clock ceremony, Mrs. Boss sang "Lord Jesus Christ, Be Present
Now" and "O Perfect Love."
The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Witte, Jr., of Route 1,
Unity, was attired in a beige suit with brown and beige accessories. She wore a
corsage of tea roses.
Her maid of honor was a friends, Miss Judy Widner of Owen. She wore a larkspur
blue suit with white accessories and had a corsage of pink carnations.
The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Schmitt of Colby, was attended by his
brother, Robert, of Colby.
Festivities of the wedding day included a reception and supper for about 120
guests at K-Corners, and a wedding dance at Harry's Hall in the evening at
Riplinger.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Schmitt left on a wedding trip to the southern part of the
state. They will make their home on Route 1, Unity. The groom is employed at the
Spencer Milk Products plant.
