Dettman, Mary (28 OCT 1888 - 12 MAY 1963)
Funeral services for Mrs. Conrad Dettman, 74, of Colby, were held Wednesday at 2
p.m., with the Rev. Carl Serr officiating.
Mrs. Dettman died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, Sunday at 4:35 p.m. She
had been in poor health for several years. The body lay in state at the Lulloff
Funeral Home in Colby.
The former Mary Schultz was born in the town of Colby Oct. 28, 1888, the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Schultz, and received her education in local
schools.
On Oct. 28, 1907 she was married to Arthur Lube. The couple farmed in the town
of Colby until his death in 1922, and shortly after, she moved to Colby.
Her second marriage to Conrad Dettman took place in Colby Oct. 10, 1935, at St.
john's Evangelical Parsonage. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Church.
She is survived by her husband, a son, Herbert Lube of Colby, and five
daughters, Mrs. Riley (Martha) Newman of Colby, Mrs. Roland (Leona) Roth of
Abbotsford, Mrs. John (Verna) Reich of Wausau, Mrs. Lester (Norma) Schaefer of
Colby, and Mrs. Joe (Edna) Olson of Unity. There are also 14 grandchildren and
10 great-grandchildren.
