Hein, Mr. and Mrs. William F. (Sixtieth - 1967)

Mr. and Mrs. William F. Hein of Humbird will observe their sixtieth wedding anniversary Monday, October 2.

Kittie L. Phillips and W. F. Hein were married in Merrillan Methodist parsonage October 2, 1907, by the Rev. Burton C. Sills.

The Heins recall it was an unusual ceremony as it was performed at 6 a.m. so they could leave Merrillan at 7 a.m. on the Green Bay and Western passenger train for La Crosse and southern Wisconsin, where they spent their honeymoon.

For several years Hein was associated with his brother, Oscar M., in operating the Humbird Roller Mills. In 1910 he was appointed rural mail carrier and served until his retirement in 1943.

Hein, who is 85, and his wife, 81, are still very active in the community. Hein is an amateur photographer, a hobby he has enjoyed since he was 12 years old.

Mr. and Mrs. Hein have a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Beth) Jeffery of Scott City, Kans.; and a son, Col. Neil F. Hein of Chipita Park, Colo.
