The program and basket social held Friday evening was a complete success, both
socially and financially. We were glad to see such a large crowd out and we hope
to make the high school a social center during the school year. The net proceeds
received were $25.27, which were turned over to the treasurer of the Basketball
Association. A new basketball ahs been ordered and the boys will soon be in line
for games.
The boys met Thursday evening and organized their basketball team for the year.
Wallace Rausch was chosen captain, and Frank Storm, manager. The lineup for the
season is as follows:
• W. Rausch - Left Forward
• F. Storm - Right Forward
• S. Davis - Center
• C. Paulson - Left Guard
• M. Lee - Right Guard
The substitute has not yet been selected, so it is up to the boys to get out and
try for this position.
The girls are going to organize a basketball team in the near future. They
expect to challenge the girls of all the nearby high schools for games.
A meeting was held by the sophomore class Thursday evening, Sept. 28th, for the
purpose of electing class officers. The results are as follows:
• Rachel Cole - President
• Glen Hart - Vice President
• Frank Storm - Secretary
• Gertrude Davis - Treasurer
• Rose Kemmeter - Class Editor
• Smith Davis -Sergeant at Arms.
The Sophomore class colors are blue and gold.
Invitations in blue and gold, the sophomore class colors, were issued to the
members of the school faculty and freshmen class to a reception in honor of the
latter. Committees to provide a program, decorations, amusements and
refreshments have been appointed and every effort will be expended to convince
the school people in the class of 1921 are livew wires.
The Freshmen have decided that a hint to the wise is sufficient because the
sophomores have already issued invitations to a reception to be held Saturday
evening.
The Freshmen English class has already completed the study of "Enoch Arden" and
are now beginning the work of the drama, taking up the study of "The Merchant of
Venice."
Arleigh Graves, who has been absent for several days, is again in school.
A Literary Society ahs been formed by the Eighth grade, and at a meeting Monday
night officers were elected as follows:
• Helen Baer - President
• Vance Williams - Vice President
• Glen Nonhof - Secretary
• Stanley Kemmeter - Treasurer
