Gehrt, Ed. (charged with mayhem - 16 MAR 1915)
Tuesday morning Ed. Gehrt was arraigned before Court Commissioner Kountz and
given a hearing. He was bound over to the circuit court charged with mayhem and
is now out on $1000 bail. Saturday evening Gehrt and Fred Christie became
engaged in an altercation in a Neillsville saloon, and got into a fight. It is
charged that Gehrt bit a portion of Christie’s left ear off and the charge of
mayhem is the result. The charge is a very serious one.
