June 1 was the wedding day for Miss Barbara Ellen Sommer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald W. Sommer of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), and Dr. Gene Paul Wegner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond A. Wegner of Menominee Falls. The ceremony took place at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Green Grove, with the Rev. Jerome Wohlfeil officiating at the 1 p.m. ceremony.

Miss Diane Burhop sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "o, Perfect Love," with accompaniment by Miss Jane Westendorf, the organist.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a sheath gown of ivory white bouquet taffeta with detachable train. Re-embroidered Alencon lace trimmed the dress and was used to fashion the pillbox which held her hand rolled, three-tiered bouffant veil. She carried a cascade arrangement of white roses and ferns.

Attending her were Miss Nancy Wegner of Madison, as maid of honor, Miss Judith Thielman of Madison and Miss Karen Engesether of Rice Lade, as bridesmaid.

Pasted blue bouquet taffeta was used to fashion their floor length gowns accented with a flowing sash at the back. Filmy picture hats matched their dresses and they carried long stemmed pink roses.

Raymond H. Wegner of Dell City, Okla., was best man; Dr. James Schafer of Madison and Dr. Edward Pohle of Milwaukee were the groomsmen; and Richard Hanke and Ronald Klohn of Menomonee Falls, were ushers.

Following the ceremony, a receptionw as held at the Woodland Hotel, Owen, where a 4 o'clock dinner was served. Open house was held in the evening at the home of the bride's parents.

Dr. and Mrs. Wegner are making their home in San Fancisco where the doctor will serve his internship. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H., and on June 10 was graduated from the Medical School at the University of Wisconsin. His bride is a 1962 graduate of the University of Wisconsin and has ebeen employed at the J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency at Chicago.
