Smith, (Fuller-Nichols), Fannie (16 JULY 1874 – 08 MAR 1963)

Mrs. Fannie Smith 88, formerly of Loyal died about 6:30 p.m. Friday afternoon in the Clark County Hospital at Owen where she had been a patient for the past five years.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, March 12, in the Loyal Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Doering officiating.  Burial was made in the Pine Grove cemetery.  The Myre Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith was born July 16, 1874, the daughter of Tammi Fuller and Milo Nichols, in the town of Weston, Clark County.  As a small child she came to the town of Loyal where she received her education in the old log school of the Dodgeville district.

She was married May 16, 1896 to Oliver Smith who died April 8, 1942.  Following their marriage, the couple lived on a farm a mile and a half east of Loyal.  In 1958 Mrs. Smith moved to Owen.  She was a member of the Loyal Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Archie of Loyal and Floyd of Pacific, Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Oswald (Lottie) Henninger and Mrs. James (Vera) Roder Loyal; 32 grandchildren and 92 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two sons, Lee and Owen; a daughter, Mrs. Clair (Dimple) Lyon; four brothers and one sister.
