Koehler, Fred (3 DEC 1893 - 31 MAY 1966)
Fred Koehler, 72, of 300 Smith St., Plymouth, died unexpectedly at the Plymouth
Hospital at 7 a.m. today following a short illness.
He was born on December 3, 1893, at Dorchester, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold
Koehler. He attended the Wausau grade and high schools an came to Plymouth with
his family in 1912.
On March 9, 1914, he was married to Frieda Oberreich at Plymouth, where the
couple resided since. His wife died March 28, 1953.
Mr. Koehler was employed as superintended of the Plymouth Phonograph Factory for
many years and then at the Cleveland Container Co., until his retirement in
1957.
He was a charter member of the Plymouth Hook and Ladder Fire Co., the Plymouth
Volunteer Fire Department, member of the Hub City Aerie No. 1312, Order of
Eagles, and a member of the Cassia Lodge, No. 167, F&AM, Plymouth.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Delores) Meyer and Mrs. Charles (Fern)
Nelson, both of Plymouth, and Mrs. William (Pearl) Hetherington of Appleton; one
son, LeRoy of Plymouth; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother,
Mrs. Reinhold Koehler, Glendale, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Walter Schulte, Los
Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Otto Pappenhagen, Albuquerque, N.M., Miss Lili Koehler,
Glendale, Calif., and Mrs. Oral Logen of Sarasota, Calif.; one brother, William
of West Bend.
His father and one infant daughter also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Wittkopp Funeral Home,
Plymouth, the Rev. Lowell Ferguson, pastor of Salem United Church of Christ,
officiating. Burial will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday until time of
services. Cassia Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
