Blomquist, Arlene (29 JUL 1963)
After a two week wedding trip to the west, Mr. and Mrs. Vern F. Buchanan will
make their home at Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).
Miss Arlene Blomquist, daughter of Mrs. Gladys Gray and Leroy Blomquist of
Rockford, Ill., and Vern F. Buchanan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Buchanan of
route 1, Curtiss, exchanged marriage vows in a 7 o'clock Ceremony performed
Saturday evening, July 29, 1963, at the First Evangelical Free Church at
Rockford, Ill.
The bride wore a floor length gown of nylon tulle and Chantilly lace. A pearl
crown held her fingertip veil. The bridal bouquet was an arrangement of ivy with
white roses and an orchid.
Lavender sheaths were worn by the bridal attendants who were Miss Lois Noldstad
of Arlee, Mont., Miss Athree Hedrick of Columbus, Ohio, and Miss Joan Applegreen
of Rockford.
Kenneth buchanan of Curtiss served his brother as best man, Charles Blomquist of
Minneapolis and Douglas Gray of Rockford were the groomsmen. Peter Timmons of
Matoon, Ill., and James Applegreen of La Grange, Ill., performed the ushering
duties.
Mrs. Gray wore a beige ensemble to her daughter's wedding and Mrs. Buchanan was
attired in blue. Pink and red roses were used to make the mothers' corsages.
Following the ceremony a receptionw as held in the church parlors.
The bride is a graduate of the East High School of Rockford and the St. Paul
Bible College, St. Paul, and has been employed by the Billy Graham Evangelistic
Association at Minneapolis.
Her husband, a graduate of the Colby High School, is employed at Frederick Post
Co., Owen.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Buchanan and family, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jensen
of Abbotsford, attended the wedding.
