Fabian, Edith #2 (1914 - 9 OCT 1917)
Tuesday afternoon while Mrs. Clarence Fabian of the town of York (Clark Co.,
Wis.) was out looking after the cattle, she heard screams from the house and
hastening in found her little 3-year-old daughter Edith burning up, her clothes
quite burned off. Mr. Fabian, who was in the village shopping, was with Dr.
Rath, hastily summoned home. They brought the little one here by auto to the
Rice Davis home, where the best of care was given her, but death was too near.
The little sufferer passed on into the great Beyond about 8 o'clock that
evening.
Just how the child set herself afire is not known. It will be remembered that
this family lost all their household goods and personal effects in a fire about
a year ago, when their household goods and personal effects in a home, then on
the Cash Ide farm, burned down. The family now live on the Jack Parrott farm in
the town of York.
