Drews, Dorothy A. (3 AUG 1963)
The marriage of Mrs. Dorothy A. Drews, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Drews,
Rout 2, Colby, and Wallace H. Sprotte, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sprotte of
Route 1, Abbotsford, took place Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, in an
8:15 p.m. ceremony.
The Rev. F.R. Timler officiated at the ceremony.
Miss Lila Drews of Milwaukee and Donald Paul were the honor attendants for the
couple.
For her wedding the bride chose a ballerina gown of white satin Du Charme with
princes bodice, scoop neckline and controlled full skirt featuring a tucked
under shepherdess back accented by a large back bow with hemline streamers. A
white pillbox hat with tailored bow front and circular veil completed her
ensemble. Her bouquet was a cascade arrangement of deep pink Garnet roses and
white stephanotis.
Miss Drews wore an aqua street length dress of silk organza over taffeta. It was
styled with a fitted bodice, bateau neckline, and controlled skirt front and
bustle back, with small bow trim. She wore a pillbox hat similar to that of the
bride, but in aqua color. Her colonial bouquet was composed of dark pink roses
and white pompons.
A supper was served after the ceremony for the members of the immediate families
at the Skylite Club at rural Athens.
The bride is a graduate of the Colby High School and has been employed at the
Marathon Cheese Corp. Mr. Sprotte is engaged in farming and is a part time
mason. He is a graduate of the Abbotsford High School.
Following a wedding trip to Colorado, and Wyoming, the couple will make their
home in rural Abbotsford.
