Young, James V. (26 December 1885 - 9 October 1967)
Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon from the Neillsville
Methodist Church for James V. Young, 81, of Rt. 2, Neillsville, who died here
Monday. The Rev. William Dushek of Neillsville and the Rev. Raymond Fleming of
Marshfield will officiate. Burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mr. Young was born December 26, 1885, in LaFayette County. He received his
education in the schools of LaFayette and Adams counties. His family moved to
Taylor County, where they farmed from 1915 to 1924. From 1924 to 1945 Mr. Young
farmed in the Town of York. After retiring from farming he was employed by the
Wisconsin Conservation department as a fire warden for 12 years in the Willard
area.
Retiring from active work, the Young family purchased a cottage on Black River
and for several years had spent the winters in Arizona.
His marriage to the former Zettie Eysnogle took place October 21, 1922.
Surviving are his wife; two sisters, Mrs. John (Wilda) Sweeney of Bonita
Springs, Fla., and Mrs. George (Clara) Thurber of Peoria, Ill.
Funeral arrangements are being made by the Georgas Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon for James V. Young, 81, of
rural Neillsville, who died here October 9. The Rev. William Dushek of the
Methodist Church and Rev. Raymond Fleming of Marshfield officiated at services
from the Neillsville Methodist Church. Burial was made in the Neillsville City
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Herbert Thurber, Calvin young, Joe Davis, Bernard Davis, Halan
Davis and Wilbur Schaeffner.
The 23rd Psalm was sung by Mrs. William Schmidtke and Mrs. Van Kayser,
accompanied by Mrs. Jas. A. Musil. “O God Our help in Ages Past” was sung by the
congregation.
