Hoeft, Mr./Mrs. Emil (40th - 15 AUG 1963)
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Hoeft celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at their home on Sunday, Aug. 18, 1963. They were married Aug. 15, 1923.

Present for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Soeffker, brothers and sister-in-law of Mrs. Hoeft, of Gaylord, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Soeffker of Arlington, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Herman Vircks of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Fitzlaff of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hoeft of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schauer of Edgar, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Harley, Carol and Jim, of Chippewa Falls, and Mrs. Martha Benzmann and Edna Soeffker of Milan.

A picnic-buffet dinner and supper was served.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Vircks observed their 17th wedding anniversary also on Aug. 15.

The 40th anniversary cake was baked by Mrs. Vircks, a sister of Mrs. Hoeft, and cut by Edna Soeffker, also a sister of Mrs. Hoeft, with the exception of the first slice, which was made by the honored couple.

Original attendants present were Oscar Schauer, Ernest Schauer and Mrs. Elsie (Hoeft) Fitzlaff.
