Berdal, Verona (27 May 1924 - 18 December 2012)
Verona Berdal, age 88, lifelong Stanley area resident, passed away on Tuesday,
December 18, 20112, at Oakbrook Health & Rehab Center, Thorp. Verona was born
May 27, 1924, at home in the Town of Worden to the late William & Susan (Clerf)
Huberty.
She grew up in the Thorp area, attending Thorp schools, after which she worked
at Blue Moon Cheese Factory. On November 21, 1953, she was united in marriage to
Lawrence Berdal in Stanley. They lived and farmed in the town of Colburn until
retiring in 1972 when they moved into Stanley, residing there since. Verona
enjoyed playing cards, gardening, shopping, and loved spending time with her
grandchildren.
Verona is survived by her two daughters: Paula (Tom) Dubiak of Lublin, and Deb
(Bob) Kaszubowski of Thorp; grandchildren: Christine (Kevin) Wright, Dan (Trish)
Dubiak, Rob (Malia) Kaszubowski, and Kyle Kaszubowski, four great-grandchildren:
Triton, Cameron, Cade and Abraham; one sister, Linda Buss of Thorp; plus
numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence, in 1985 two
grandchildren in infancy; and brothers: Albert & Paul Huberty.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the
Stanley United Methodist Church with Pastor John Hazen officiating. Burial will
follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Stanley. Friends and family may call on Friday
evening from 4-8 p.m. at the Plombon funeral home, Stanley, and one hour prior
to service time on Saturday morning at the church.
