Sp. 4 Duane a. Novobielski (? - ? 1967)
Funeral services for Sp. 4 Duane A. Novobielski were held Friday morning from
St. Mary’s church in Greenwood. The Rev. John Olson officiated. Burial was made
in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Greenwood.
Pallbearers, members of the Wallis-Hinker Legion Post of Greenwood, were Donald
Lindner, Robert Carl, Kenneth Speich, Laverne Brown, Edward Bogdonovich and John
D. Speich, all of Greenwood.
The Escort was Sgt. Reininger of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. The honor guard and
firing squad were composed of Master Sgt. Seelarlar, M. Sgt. Wheeler, S S 6
Bechel, S S 6 Tohmson, S S 6 Hicks, S Fc Kyle and S S 6 Buryette, all of Eau
Claire.
The bugler was DuWayne Dux of Neillsville.
Sp. 4 Novobielski died in Vietnam following a heart attack suffered on his
return to a rest area following a field operation.
