Will Stiles of Neillsville was in town Monday.
E.M. Hagen of Fairchild was here Saturday.
O.G. Tripp of Neillsville is in town on business.
Lem Owens is better and has returned from Fairchild.
Mrs. James Weeks of Trow's Mill, is in town visiting relatives.
A.W. Hubble is laying the foundation for E.D. Carter's new barn.
Miss Mollie Gibson and Miss Mamie Carter visited Merrillan Saturday.
R.C. Hull moves his family to Altoona today, where they will reside for the
present.
Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin of Fairchild were the guests of Mrs. Gill Gilmon Sunday.
Mrs. Barrett of Sheldon, Iowa spent part of last week with old friends here.
Mrs. Odgers left Monday for Pearly to visit her daughters, Mrs. Whitney and Mrs.
Reek.
John Theise's barn burned last Thursday with all it contents. We believe there
was a light insurance.
Mrs. Lewis of Iowa, a sister of Mrs. Ben Travis, arrived here last week to spend
the summer with her.
Mrs. Fred Robinson is still very ill. James McBride also is dangerously ill; but
faint hopes are entertained for his recovery.
Prof. Witter, our principal, has been very ill, and has had to give up school
work, Miss Mollie Gibson taking charge of his pupils as well as her own.
Fred Baxter, our postmaster, has put in a stock of boots and shoes, warranted
not to rip, ravel or run down at the heel. Fred is bound to be a merchant.
