Marion Mae Mattes was born on December 26, 1926, in Thorp, WI, the daughter of
Harold and Hazel (Frese) Mattes. She was raised and received her education in
the Thorp area, graduating from Thorp High School in 1944. Marion was united in

and co-managed the Silver Dollar with her husband, George. She and George lived
in Rockford, IL, Fond du Lac, WI, and finally in Rockton, IL, where George
retired in 1992.
Marion was an energetic, generous and feisty cowgirl who enjoyed bowling,

friends. She made the world a better place with her infectious laugh, positive
attitude, and sense of humor. Marion will be missed dearly by her family, many
loving friends and neighbors.

of West Allis, WI; three grandchildren: Jennifer Kolze and Jesse Williams of
Mazomanie, WI, and Scott Williams of West Allis, WI; three great-grandchildren:
