Tell Spencer and wife of Altoona are visiting Mrs. T.'s parents.

Ben Webster has improved his hotel by giving it a coat of paint.

James Botsford of Altoona paid our village a business visit last week.

Fires are running in the woods five miles east of town, doing much damage.

Miss Minnie Andrus returned Saturday from her trip to St. Paul and Eau Claire.

The weather still continues anything but favorable for corn, potatoes and pastures.

Mrs. B. Crandell and children of La Crosse are visiting relatives and friends at this place.

Mr. Baker and wife of Neillsville are here on a visit with Mrs. B.'s parents, Orrin Wilson and wife.

Ben Webster, accompanied by his daughter Mattie, are sojourning with relatives in Brodhead this week.

Blackberries are reported as half a crop on account of the drought. They are retailing at 8 cents per quart.

Misses Florence and Edna King, accompanied by a lady friend, were the guests of Mrs. G.W. King and family last week.

W.N. Wells of B.R. Falls paid his sisters, Mrs. E.A. Freeman and Miss May Wells, a visit last week before starting for Michigan.

At the school meeting Monday evening, it was decided that an addition be built on the school building, which would cost $1,500 when completed.
