Peterson, Susan A. (26 AUG 1879 - 18 AUG 1963)
Mrs. Susan Ann Peterson, 83, a native of the town of Hull (Marathon Co., Wis.)
and a former Colby resident, died Sunday in a Wausau hospital, shortly after
suffering a heart attack.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lulloff Funeral Home in
Colby, with Dr. Paul S. Bischoff, Wausau, officiating. Burial was made in the
Colby Cemetery.
Mrs. Peterson was born Aug. 26, 1879 in the town of Hull to Mr. and Mrs. Niles
Parkhill. She married Neils Peterson Sept. 16, 1899, in Colby. They lived in
this area until moving to Milwaukee in 1928. Mr. Peterson died there in 1942,
and Mrs. Peterson lived with a daughter until moving to Wausau in 1960.
Mrs. Peterson was active in the Presbyterian Church and was active in the Order
of Eastern Star, being a member of the Past Matrons' Club of Wausau and
Abbotsford.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Fred L. (Jessie) Johnson, La Crosse, Miss
Anna Marie Peterson, Wausau, and Mrs. Neil (Eileen) Vater, Owen; a son, Lee,
Milwaukee; a sister, Myrtle B. Munson, Withee, eight grandchildren and ten
great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter and
three brothers, in addition to her husband and parents.
