Winkler, Patricia
A. (24 AUG 1963)
Miss Patricia Anne Winkler and Gerald Harvey Suckow, both of Unity, exchanged
marriage promises Saturday, Aug. 24, 1963, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity.
Parents of the bridal couple are Mrs. Dorothy Winkler of Unity and the late
Norman Winkler, and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Suckow, also of Unity.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Robert Winkler, at the 1:30
o'clock ceremony performed by the Rev. Robert Langseth. Miss Mary Scha..(?),
accompanied by Mrs. Vernon B..(?), sang "The Wedding Prayer" and "The Lord's
Prayer."
The bride was attired in a floor length gown of Chantilly lace designed with
long sleeves and jewel trim on the bateau neckline of the fitted bodice. The
full hoop skirt of lace over taffeta featured an insertion of nylon tulle in (?)
and alternating tiers of tulle and sequin edged lace in the back. Her fingertip
veil was secured to a headpiece of delustered satin roses and pearlized orange
blossoms. She carried a cascade bouquet of pink garnette roses and stephanotis.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Robert Winkler of Unity. Miss
Carol Rae Edblom of Colby and Miss Karen Habeck of Unity were bridesmaids.
They wore identical street length formals of ice blue silk organza over taffeta
with fitted bodices and scoop necklines. A smooth midriff of a deeper shade of
blue topped the controlled skirt front, completed by a bell shaped back and
fabric bow at the waistline. Their headpieces were of matching organza in leaf
design with pearl trim. They carried cascade arrangements of white Fugi mums
with small yellow and white mums.
Donald Joers was the best man and Dennis and David Winkler of Unity were the
groomsmen. Jerome Jeske of Hamburg and Arlyn Hanne of Colby performed the
ushering duties.
Festivities following the wedding included a reception at the city hall at
Colby, supper at the church parlors, and a dance in the evening at Sportsmen's
Park, Colby.
The bride, a 1962 graduate of the Colby High School, was employed at Employer's
Mutual of Wausau. Her husband is a 1961 graduate of the Colby High School and
attended Wis. State College, River Falls. He is employed at Spencer Sports
Products, Spencer.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Suckow left on a honeymoon trip.
