Schulz, Myron #2 (18 OCT 1936 - 26 AUG 1963)

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 at Zion Lutheran Church for Myron Merlin Schulz, who was fatally injured the previous Monday morning in an auto accident.

The Rev. LeRoy Urman officiated and burial was made in the Colby Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers were members of the Naval reserve unit, Marshfield, and honorary pallbearers were members of the Airport Bar softball team. Flowers were in charge of Jeanette Hass, Arlene Schulz and Carol Hobler.

Kenneth Schultz, accompanied by Mrs. L. Priem, sang "Now Rest Beneath Night's Shadows" and "The 23rd Psalm."

Mryon M. Schulz was born at Colby Oct. 18, 1936 and received his education at Zion Lutheran School and Colby High School. He graduated with honors from DeVry School of Electronics and was enrolled for his senior year at Wis. State College at Stevens Point.

He had served as Sunday school teacher and usher at Zion Lutheran Church.

He served four years in the U.S. Navy as radio operator and attained the rank of First Class Radio Man. His tour of duty was in the Pacific, part of it at the South Pole. At the time of his death he was on active duty with the Navy reserve unit at Marshfield as recruiter.

He was also the manager of the Airport Bar softball team.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schulz, and two brothers, Arland at home, and Gerald of Milwaukee.

Relatives and friends attending from out of town were from Milwaukee, Wausau, Edgar, Abbotsford, Unity, Marshfield, Curtiss, owen, Westboro, Waukegan, Ill., and many friends of the Colby area.
