OBITUARIES - STEDER

John Conrad Steder, 88, died Saturday afternoon at the St. Mary's home for the aged.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Pfeffer funeral home and at 9 a.m. at St. Boniface church, the Rev. Alfred Pritzl officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Mr. Steder was born in 1858 in Newton and when a young man moved to Colby, Wis., where he worked as a carpenter. He married Anna Walt 65 years ago and she preceded him in death 20 years ago.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Henry Zinkel and Mrs. Walter Trost of Manitowoc; one son, Carl of Madison, Wisconsin; two brothers, Henry of Chicago and Ed of this city; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Habelwitz of Manitowoc, Mrs. Frank Ruehlman of Chicago, Ill. and Mrs. Anna Scholey of Kenosha. Twelve grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive. The rosary will be recited by the Holy Name society at the funeral home at 7 o'clock this evening.
