Arithmetic Contest (23 APR 1915)

The town spelling and arithmetic contest of the town of York was held last Friday afternoon in Dist. No. 3.

Credits were as follows in arithmetic:
1st – Dorothy Manthy, Dist. No. 3, who worked problems in 8 minutes
2nd – Viola Rhines, Jt. Dist. No. 3, who worked problems in 14 minutes
3rd – Katie Wright, Dist. No. 3, who worked problems in 14 minutes
Credits in arithmetic were given for rapidity and accuracy in the four fundamentals.

Credits in spelling were given as follows:
1st – Gladys Parrett, Dist. No. 2
2nd – Hattie Winkleman, Jt. Dist. No. 3
3rd – Violet Fulwiler, Dist. No. 2

The winning contestants will go to Neillsville to take part in the division contest at some future date. This proves very interesting work for both teachers and pupils.
