Kelpin, Otto #2 (25 MAR 1885 – 02 FEB 1914)
Otto Kelpin died Feb. 2nd, 1914, at Dr. Montgomery’s Hospital in Eau Claire,
Wis., where he spent the last 13 months of his life suffering from an incurable
disease. Here he received the closest attention of most reputable physicians and
the loving care of his sister Annie, who is an efficient professional nurse in
that institution. His parents, brothers and sisters frequently visited him there
and all that was in the power of mortals to do for their beloved and sick, was
cheerfully done for Otto. His mother and sister, Mary, Mrs. Herman Scheeler,
were beside his sister Annie in constant attendance at his bedside for days
previous to his death.
Otto was born here 29 years ago the 25th of last March, a son of Mr. and Mrs.
Wm. Kelpin. He was never well, but his good character, gentlemanly ways and
kindness of heart won for him friends of all who knew him. He leaves to mourn
him his parents, fond sisters, Annie, Emma, Mary (Mrs. Herman Scheeler) and
Martha, and four brothers, Carl, Paul, Arnold and Herman. The funeral was held
from the Mapleworks German Lutheran Church, Thursday afternoon. Rev. Hasz
officiating and interment was made in the church cemetery.
