Voss, Max Frederick #2 (23 SEP 1878 – 13 MAR 1963)
Funeral services for Max Frederick Voss, 84, Loyal, were held at 2 p.m. Friday
afternoon, March 15, in Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Alden Moldenhauer
officiating Burial was in the Pine Grove cemetery. The Myre Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.
Mr. Voss died at 4 a.m. Wednesday in his home. He suffered a stroke a year ago
and head been in poor health since that time.
He was born September 23, 1878 in Germany and came to this country at the age of
three with his parents. They settled in Waukesha wher he lived until he was 21.
At that time he came to Loyal and worked as a carpenter in this area.
On September 4, 1907 he was married in Loyal to Hattie C. Shilling who survives
him. In 1917 they moved to a farm in the town of Beaver where they lived until
retirement in 1956 when they came to the city of Loyal. He was a member of
Trinity Lutheran church.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Voss is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Norma)
Shilling, Helenville; two grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Voss of Loyal and
Otto Voss, Waukesha; and a sister Mrs. Lizzie Shilling, Spencer. A brother and
three sisters preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were Philip Capelle, Neil Johnston, Romaine Rossow, Ervin Schmidt,
Olaf Ystad and Julius Ehlert.
Mrs. Verland Dux and Mrs. Erwin Noeldner sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and
"Heaven is My Home." Faith Moldenhauer accompanied them at the organ.
Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schilling, Maxine and Arden,
Richard Rosekany, Helenville; Mrs. Lizzie Schilling, Mr. and Mrs Merlin Linder,
Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Voss, Mrs. Alvina Wehrman, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Anderson, Wausau.
