Miss LaVaun Neeb of Dodge Center, Minnesota, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar
Neeb, Loyal, exchanged marriage vows with Jack Heinkkinen, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Theodore Heikkinen, Eveleth, Minnesota, Saturday, March 23, at Loyal Methodist
Church before Rev. Paul Doering at a 2:30 p.m. double ring ceremony.
The bride was presented I marriage by her father. The church alter was decorated
with bouquets of red and white gladiolas. Mrs. Paul Doering of Loyal sang “O
Perfect Love” and “O Father All Creating”.
The bride wore a floor-length gown of white Chantilly lace over satin designed
by a square neckline of scalloped lace and sequins, a fitted bodice with a V
waistline and a full skirt with two scalloped insertions of tulle bordered by
sequins and a cathedral train. A crown of crystal and pearls held a fingertip
veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of whit carnations and red roses.
The bride’s matron of honor was Mrs. Neil Neeb of Loyal and bridesmaids were
Mrs. Le Roy Wiirre and Mrs. James Ritacco, both of Eveleth and Mrs. Walter
Wetzel of Neillsville. They wore street-length dresses of red brocade satin
featuring a scalloped neckline with fitted bodice and dropped V waistline. The
dresses had full skirts and were worn with matching red variegated and white
carnations.
Karla Neeb, Loyal as flower girl wore an identical red brocade dress with a
white picture hat and carried a basket of the same colored carnations.
Neil Neeb, Loyal, was best man. Groomsmen were LeRoy Wiirre, James Ritacco, both
of Eveleth and Walter Wetzel, Neillsville. Duane Wiirre of Eveleth was ring
bearer.
Miss Judith Sillanpua, Virginia, Minnesota, and Miss Edna Jean Kunelwis,
Brookston, Minnesota, cut the wedding cake. Miss Carol Siedelman, Milwaukee,
greeted the guests and had charge of the guest book. Misses Patricia and Peggy
Heikkinen, Eveleth, were usherettes.
The bride is a 1954 graduate of Loyal High School and a 1958 graduate in home
economics of Stout State College. She has been employed as Dodge County,
Minnesota, Home Agent since 1958.
The groom graduated in 1954 from Gilbert High School, Gilbert, Minnesota,
attended Virginia Junior College and Winona State College. He will graduate in
June with an industrial arts education degree. He served in the US Army from
1958 to 1960. He is presently practice teaching at Kellogg Junior High School,
Rochester, Minnesota.
After a short wedding trip to Minneapolis the couple will be at home at 106 11th
Street N.E., Rochester, Minnesota until after graduation when they will move to
northern Minnesota for the summer months where the groom will be employed for
the summer.
A 4 o’clock dinner was served in the church basement. A reception was held at
the Oscar Neeb home from 6 to 8 p.m., and a wedding dance was held at the Silver
Dome.
Approximately 150 guests attended from Minnesota and Wisconsin.
