Huntley, Harmon W. (1 July 1879 - 17 November 1967)

Harmon W. Huntley, 88, of Neillsville, died here Friday following an illness of several months. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the York Center Methodist Church. The Rev. Lelan and Rev. Ellen Shaw of Loyal officiated. Burial was made in the York Center Cemetery.

Mr. Huntley was born July 1, 1879, in Clark County and was a lifetime resident of the Neillsville area. He was married February 16, 1905, to the former Floy Lawrence in Neillsville. They farmed from 1905 to 1957 in the Town of York. Following their retirement they remained on the farm until 1962, when they moved to Neillsville.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Filitz of Neillsville and Mrs. Merle (Carol) Bushnell of Owen; a brother, Stillman Huntley of Monticello; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were: Darcey Gross, Frankie Filitz, Marlyn Laabs, Larry DuBrava, Bryan Bushnell and Duane Bushnell. “The Silver Cord” and “Life’s Railroad to Heaven” were sung by Milford Rowe and Nyle Benedict.

People from away here for the service included: Mr. and Mrs. Merle Bushnell and DuWayne of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Orville Radley of Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Darcey Gross and family of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Larry DuBrava and family of West Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Marlyn Laabs and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Crossett, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Vandeberg and Marie, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jakobi and Orin Lawrence, all of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Stillman Huntley, Lawrence Huntley and Mr. and Mrs. Leland Huntley of Monticello; Mrs. Lawrence Bidlingmaies of Argyle; Mrs. Jacob Wattach of Bellville; and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Karlen of Monticello. Many others from the Loyal, Granton, Greenwood and Neillsville areas also attended.
