SUN PRAIRIE - Beatrice C. "Bea" Haas, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, April 29,
2003, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center, Madison. She was born
on Jan. 16, 1926, in Fond du Lac, Wis., the daughter of Francis and Catherine
(Heiting) Valk. Mrs. Haas was a longtime resident of Sun Prairie.
She was a retired employee of the United Methodist Conference Office where she
was a clerical worker. She loved to travel to different Flea Markets and Garage
sales. Mrs. Haas loved the outdoors; working in her garden or watching birds.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who always put her loved ones first.
Mrs. Haas will be missed and mourned by her beloved family, including her
children, Cheryl (Richard) Stark of Sun Prairie, Gary (Susan) Haas of Stoughton,
and Brice (Julie) Haas of Cottage Grove; her grandchildren, Shannon (Mike)
Krachey, Becky Stark, Jason (December) Haas, Jeremiah Haas, Bradley Haas, and
David Haas; her great-grandson, Collin Krachey; her brothers, Donald (Norma)
Valk of Palm Harbor, Fla., Alvin (Elaine) Valk of Zephyr Hills, Fla., Bob (Pat)
Valk of Stanley, Wis., Ed (Ione) Valk of Eau Claire, and Jerry (Georgie) Valk of
Arcadia, Wis.; her sisters, Eleanor Michur of Neillsville, Wis., and Mary
(Terry) Stewart of Mandan, ND; her ex-husband, Leonard Haas of Sun Prairie;
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kevin; and sisters, Carol
Sopiarz and Bonnie Truse.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2003, at 1
p.m. at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, with the Rev.
Tony Schumacher officiating. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday at
the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Inurnment will be held
at a later date at the Sun Prairie Memory Gardens.
