Wilfred Haas, 69, Rt. 1, Thorp, died at 12:52 a.m., Sunday July 28, 1991 at his
home in the Town of Withee, rural Thorp.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, 1991 at St. Bernard's-St.
Hedwig's Catholic Church, Thorp, with the Rev. John Puerner officiating. Burial,
with military rites by Thorp American Legion Post #118, was in St. Bernard's
Cemetery, Thorp.
He was born December 8, 1921 in Thorp to Robert and Irene Haas. He was a World
War II veteran of the Army Air Force. He married Irene Ciolkosz September 28,
1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Stanley.
He lived in Sheboygan for 11 years. He moved to Thorp in 1960 and farmed there.
He was a member of the Thorp American Legion and the Men Foresters of St.
Bernard's-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Tom, Keith and Joe, all of Thorp; five
daughters, Kathleen Kobylarczyk, Paulette Haas and Mary Badzinski, all of Thorp,
Kris Stuttgen of Stanley and Karol Debevec of Greenwood; four brothers, Richard
and Melvin, both of Thorp, Jerry of Greenwood and Arnie of Sheboygan; four
sisters, Marie Haas of California, Theresa Jenness of Thorp, Virginia Mullison
of Colorado and Colette Hurth of Cadott; and 11 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, one son, two brothers and two sisters.
