The Badger State Telephone and Telegraph Co. operating the telephone exchange at Neillsville and Granton and the local toll system have filed a petition with the Railroad Commission for permission to readjust rates and in certain particulars to raise them. The Commission has served notice on a number of parties presumed, to be interested, including all the newspapers of this city, stating that the hearing in this petition will be held Feb. 27, 1914 at 2 p.m. at the office of the Railroad Commission in Madison, and requesting that publicity be given as to time and place of said hearing, so that any parties interested may attend and be heard if they so choose. The readjustment of the schedule or the main points may be given in a later issue. Some of these items might not be easily understood by many of the telephone subscribers and before passing judgment on the matter, a careful study of the schedule or explanations by the telephone manager may be necessary.—Republican and Press
