BLANCHE FRANCIS/ALBERT SCHMIDT MARRIAGE
A very pretty wedding took place at the Lutheran Church at Loyal,
Clark County Friday evening, April 20, 1917 at 7:00, when Miss
Blanche Francis became the bride of Mr. Albert Schmidt, Rev. E.
Kemena officiating.
The bride was dressed in satin messaline, trimmed with shadow lace,
while the groom wore the customary black. The bride was attended by
Miss Agnes Schmidt, a sister of the groom, while the groom was
attended by Mr. Floyd Francis, a brother of the bride.
The bride is the only daughter of Mrs. Clara Francis and is a
highly esteemed and respected young lady. She grew to womanhood
only three mile from where they will reside and is a girl whom the
breath of scandal has never touched. The groom is the youngest son
of Mrs. Johanna Schmidt of Loyal and is an industrious young man
who has worked in this vicinity as a carpenter for a number of
years. Both young people have a host of friends.
After the ceremony, congratulations and a shower of rice the bridal
party and near relatives returned to the home of the bride's
mother, where supper was served to about twenty-five. They received
man useful and beautiful presents.
Their many friends, together with the Gleaner, extend
congratulations for many years of happy wedded life.
