Senator Tom Harnisch, Neillsville, this week supported a need for a college of
veterinary medicine here in Wisconsin.
Harnisch stated, “In my judgment the present number of veterinarians falls
considerable short of the minimum number required to serve adequately the needs
of the state. It appears also that the rather dramatic and unexpected demands
that society now is placing on the veterinary medical profession in
non-traditional practice areas will continue to aggravate the national deficit
of veterinarians.”
