CHARLES PHILLIP BAHL, furniture, Colby, was
born in Germany, Sept. 10, 1844 came to New York with his parents
when eight years of age stopped there six months and then moved to
Washington Co., Wis., where he learned his trade of Mr. Schmidt. He
then went to Brown County, and soon after taking a trip to
Minnesota, returning to Brown County, he came to Colby in 1879.
Opened his furniture store in 1850. He married Miss Augusta
Manegel, of Brown Co., Wis. They have two children, Elezie and
Lena. The parents are members of the Lutheran Church.
