The Rev. C. Arlene Denyer officiated at the wedding ceremony December 23 at the
United Methodist Church, Loyal, for Jeanette L. Nichols of Unity and Drew Wriedt
of Route 1, Unity.
They are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nichols of Loyal and Karen Hoffman
of Loyal.
The bride wore a gown with cream lace and carried red roses, white carnations,
ivy and baby's breath.
Penny Conners of Spencer was maid of honor.
Mark Rogers of Route 1, Unity, was best man.
A family dinner was held following the ceremony. A reception at the Unity Hall
also was held.
The bride attended Loyal High School and is employed by Figi's Inc., Marshfield.
Her husband, a 1981 graduate of Colby High School, works on the farm of Allen
Krueger.
The couple will reside in Unity.

Sharon Ann Volovsek of Willard and John Peter Solberg of Black River Falls
exchanged marriage vows during a wedding ceremony on December 24 at the
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Black River Falls.
The Rev. Erik Zingelman officiated at the ceremony for the children of Mr. and
Mrs. William Volovsek of Willard, and Mrs. Alice Solberg of Black River Falls
and the late Arthur Solberg.
Patty Holcomb of Black River Falls was maid of honor, Michael Muth of Black
River Falls was best man.
A dinner was served at the home of the bridegroom's mother.
The bride graduated from Greenwood High School and from Western Technical
Institute-La Crosse from the dental assistant program. Her husband graduated
from Black River Falls High School and is assistant postmaster in Black River
Falls.
They will reside on Route 3, Black River Falls.

Brian Boettcher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Boettcher of Colby, has graduated
magna cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Stout at Menomonie with a B.S.
degree. He majored in applied mathematics, minoring in computer science with a
concentration on electronics. He accepted a position with IBM Co., Rochester,
Minnesota, as a research systems analyst, developing new software for their
computers.
He and his wife, the former Dawn Kemps, and their son Aaron will move to
Rochester this month.

ABBOTSFORD - Twelve members of the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce recently
established a nominating committee.
Members named to the nominate directors are Jay O'Leary, Norm Kommer and Duane
Frey. Directors will be elected at the January 8 meeting at the Ole Cedar House.

Lamb, Sheldon J. (09 June 1925 - 29 December 1963)
UNITY - Services for Sheldon J. Lamb, 58, Unity, who died Thursday morning at
his home, will be Monday at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford.
The Rev. Emil Hodnik of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Abbotsford, will
officiate. Burial will be in North Orwell Cemetery, North Orwell, Pennsylvania.
He was born June 9, 1925 in Binghamton, New York. He married Grace Woglom. They
later divorced. He and Alberta Marvin were married December 17, 1979. She
survives.
He farmed and was a trucker in Horseheads, New York from 1965 until 1972 and the
moved to the Town of Mayville where he farmed until 1977. From 1977 to 1981 he
operated the Little Brown Jug tavern. He then moved to Unity, where he lived in
the Village Acres Mobile Home Court.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mary Barbara Farrelly of Levittown, New York,
and sue Ellen Marvin of Unity; three sons, James S. Lamb of Great Neck, New
York, Stephen Welch of Litchfield, Minnesota and Patrick Welch of Cortland, New
York; and nine grandchildren.

Johnson, Beatrice (01 October 1906 - 29 December 1983)
Mrs. Wilbur M. (Beatrice S.) Johnson, 77, of 300 S Vine Ave, died Thursday
evening at St. Joseph's Hospital of a heart condition. She was admitted on
Monday.
Services will be Monday at the Hansen Funeral Home. The Rev. Virgil E. Taylor of
the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Carol Snelling will be organist.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
The former Beatrice S. Sturgeon was born October 1, 1906 in Owen, to the late
Mr. and Mrs. Golden (Belle Clifton) Sturgeon. She was a 1925 graduate of Owen
High School and in 1927 graduated from Eau Claire Teachers College. She taught
school in Gilman from 1927 to 1929 and then moved to Marshfield, where she was a
teacher at Washington School from 1929-1940.
She was married to Wilbur M. Johnson in January 1941. He was president of the
McCain-Johnson Co. Department Store. He died May 4, 1953.
A member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Marshfield Women's Club of
which she was a former secretary, Mrs. Johnson is survived by two stepchildren,
Mrs. George (Jeanne) Manthei and Wilbur B. Johnson, both of Marshfield; three
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Russell (Bernadine)
Andersen of Marshfield; and a brother, Aaron Sturgeon of Wauwatosa.
Memorial may be given to the Marshfield Medical Foundation for Heart Disease
Research.
