CALWAY, SAMUEL
BOLLING
Samuel B. Calway was born in Canada, of an old English family,
identified with large interests in Canada. He married Catherine
Rainey, a native of Maine, of Scotch ancestry. They came to
Neillsville June 19, 1869, and have since continued to reside here.
They are the parents of five children. For many years Mr. Calway
was identified with the lumbering industry in the county as a
scaler, having scaled between 150,000,00 and 200,000,000 feet of
the pine which was cut in the southern part of the county.

Samuel B. Calway
Word has been received in this city of the death of Samuel Bolling Calway at his
home in Neillsville, Wis., Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 10. His death came as a
shock as he had been about his home and around the streets but a few hours
before.
Mr. Calway was born in Quebec, March 16, 1843, the youngest son of James and
Mary Calway.
Samuel Bolling Calway is buried in the Neillsville, Wisconsin City Cemetery.
