OLSON-GUNDERSON WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT

Miss Opal Marie Gunderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Gunderson of Ponac, Nebraska became the bride of Lt. Laurence F. Olson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence P. Olson of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Cherokee, on August 27, 1965 at a candlelight service in Salem Lutheran Church, Ponca, Nebraska. The 7:30 P. M. double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Paul Wiegman. Baskets of white gladioli and white mums and tiered candelabra decorated the alter. Pew holders with candles decorated with white satin ribbon and white gladioli lined the aisle.

Mrs. Paul Wiegman sang "Because" and "O perfect Love", accompanied by Mrs. Frank Stark on the organ.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a crystal satin waltz-length gown, princess style and a lace bolero jacket with irridescent sequins outlining the neckline. A crown of illusion leaves and seed pearls held the pure silk illusion shoulder-length veil. She carried a bouquet of white glamelias and red roses.

Miss Janet M. Olson, sister of the groom, was maid of honor. She wore a gown of shrimp crystalette, fashioned princess style with a square neckline and full waltz-length skirt. A matching crown of illusion leaves and tiny seed pearls completed the costume. She carried a bouquet of blue baby mums and white gladioli.

The bridesmaids, Miss Shirley A. Gunderson, sister of the bride and Miss Vicoria Koury, friend of the bride, wore gowns of Pervenche blue crystalette fashioned like that worn by the maid of honor and carried colonial bouquets of shrimp and white mums. They wore pearl necklaces and earrings, gifts from the bride.

Miss Ruth Lamprecht and Miss Linda Susan Lamprecht, nieces of the bride, were the flower girls. They wore identical gowns, fashioned princess style, in shrimp and Pervenche crystallette, carrying baskets decorated with white satin ribbon and filled with rose petals. Their pearl necklaces were gifts from the bride.

Thomas C. Cale, Jr., friend of the groom, was best man, George P. Kasper and Floyd A. Snyler, brothers-in-law of the bride, were ushers. The men were attired in blue business suits and wore white carnation boutonnieres.

The bride's mother wore a blue lace dress with navy blue accessories and the groom's mother wore a lavender crepe dress with pink accessories. They wore pink rose corsages.

A reception ws held at the Salem Lutheran Church parlors. Mrs. Phyllis Gunderson and Miss Karen Lamprecht were in charge of the gifts and guest book. Miss Ann Thompson and Miss Vilah Nielson, Mrs. Sarah Nielsen, Mrs. Josephine Peterson, Mrs. Carl Lukken and Mrs. Glenard Bauman assisted at the reception.

The bride is a graduate of Ponca high school and was employed at the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.

The groom is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and was employed at Nutrena Mills, Sioux City, before he entered the U. S. Air Force. He is presently stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.

After a short wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the couple will make their home at 5707 Gross Drive, Dayton, Ohio.
Out of town guests at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Laurence P. Olson and Janet Olson of Chippewa Falls and Mr. Thelma Wenzel of Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Lourence P. Olson and daughter, Janet, held open house at their home in Chippewa Falls, Wis., on Tuesday evening, Aug. 30, for Lt. and Mrs. Laurence F. Olson. Those from Colby attending were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Oldon, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Harlowe Hibbard, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kressig, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Ven Rooy and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Totzky.
