Cole Family of Clark Co., WI
The Cole family of Clark Co., WI
descended from James Cole and Mary Glodgo-Cole who were both born
in "East"/"French" Canada. Both sets of their parents were also
born in Canada. James and Mary Cole came to Wisconsin via New York
(abt. 1854-1860) and Illinois (abt. 1862-1866), with Children born
in all 3 states. After living in Calumet Co., WI the family moved
to Clark County by 1886.
The children of James and Mary Cole were: Joseph, born 1853, NY
Eugene, born Apr 1857, NY Mary Jane, born Apr 1860, NY John Edward,
born 8 Jul 1863, Illinois Arthur Gordon, born 18 Jul 1865, Illinois
and Anna, born Oct 1867, WI.
John Cole married Alvina Plaul in Marshfield in 1885 and they had 3
surviving children before divorcing (Alvin, Harry, and Lena). Alvin
married Hattie Schultz in 1918 in Neillsville, WI. Harry married
Tina Beilke in Fremont Twp. in 1920. Lena married herb Pischer
(Piescher) in 1915.
